VW Scirocco MK2 Eighties Sunset

History behind the design

his 3-door coupé is truly unique car in the Volkswagen line-up and first was shown on 1981 Geneva Motor Show. The MK2 Scirocco makes eminent sense as a bargain daily classic, offering both Teutonic reliability and spritely performance. Scirocco sales continued until 1992 in Germany, the UK, and some other European markets. The Scirocco was briefly joined but effectively replaced by the Corrado in the VW line-up, although this had been on sale since 1988 and was aimed further upmarket.
